Diablo 4 Release Period Apparently Revealed

Diablo 4

Rumor has it; Diablo 4 is scheduled to be released sometime in April 2023. The action RPG from Blizzard Entertainment was announced in 2019 as the fourth main instalment to the immensely popular series.

This speculation comes from the XboxEra podcast and has been corroborated by Windows Central, with both saying that early access will reportedly commence in February. It’s also being said that Diablo 4 will show up at The Game Awards in December and that’s when pre-orders will go live.

Blizzard is apparently planning various digital editions and a premium physical collector’s edition for the game as well. Diablo 4 is likely to adopt the season-based live service model that will be supported by microtransactions.

And although April 2023 looks like the time it will officially arrive, its first season reportedly won’t go live until Q3 of the same year. That said, there’s much to look forward to for fans of the long-running series.

Diablo 4 will take them back into the gothic world of Sanctuary, where players will be caught in the crossfire between the forces of heaven and hell. The series is known for its dark nature and the makers have promised to return to these roots after the criticism they received for the slightly mild nature of Diablo 3’s visuals.

So far, five character classes have been announced, namely Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid, Rogue, and Necromancer. Series staple elements like re-playable, procedurally generated dungeons and loot-focused character-building will indeed form part of the experience, apart from new additions like an open-world environment and PvP interactions.

Diablo 4 is being developed for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. Microsoft is yet to confirm whether it will form part of its Xbox Game Pass library at launch.
