Witcher 3 Is Getting Netflix Series-Inspired DLC

The Witcher 3

CD Projekt isn’t quite done with Witcher 3 DLC yet. To commemorate the hugely popular Witcher series on Netflix, the developers will be introducing related content to the game later this year through its next-gen update. Season 2 of the show is slated to hit Netflix on December 17 but we still don’t have a release date for the next-gen update.

CD Projekt hasn’t revealed what this DLC will include but has indeed said that all versions of the game will be getting it for free, including the Nintendo Switch edition. The art for the game’s Complete Edition – that’s what the new copies of the next-gen edition will be called – has also been unveiled.

Season 2 of The Witcher has finally received its full trailer that throws some light on what you can expect from the show’s second coming. It will include eight episodes and the names of all of them have been revealed. They will be titled A Grain of Truth, Kaer Morhen, What is Lost, Redanian Intelligence, Turn Your Back, Dear Friend, and Voleth Meir, in that order.

Created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, this Netflix series veers away from the games’ timelines and follows Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer at different points in time, exploring formative events that shaped their characters. It was released in December 2019 and was well received by fans from all over the world. The second season could have come out sooner but was delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, which even affected the show’s cast and crew. And this meant that December 2021 was the best the producers could do.

As we said, Season 2 of the Netflix series arrives on December 17, while there’s no release date yet for the Complete Edition of The Witcher 3.
