Diablo 2: Resurrected is inching towards its much-anticipated release date but ahead of it, Blizzard wants to give fans a free glimpse at the remastered version. Both its Early Access and Open Beta tests are lined up for later this month and will be playable on all intended platforms except the Nintendo Switch.

The Diablo 2: Resurrected Early Access test is reserved for those who have pre-ordered the game’s regular or Prime Evil Collection versions. Pre-loading will go live for these buyers on August 11, while the game will go playable on August 13. August 17 is when this test will end. As for the Open Beta test of this upcoming game, it will be available for everyone from August 20 to August 23, with pre-loads starting August 17.

In case you’re wondering whether premium subscriptions will be required to enjoy the online portions of Diablo 2: Resurrected, Blizzard has provided full clarity on that beforehand. While PC gamers will, of course, have no such barrier, those playing on Xbox consoles will require Xbox Live Gold for accessing the Early Access test but not for the Open Beta. On the other hand, PS Plus won’t be needed for either Early Access or the Open Beta. And obviously, both the services will be needed to access the online portions of the game after its launch.

Blizzard has confirmed that these beta tests will include Act I: The Sightless Eye and Act II: The Secret of the Vizjerei. Diablo 2: Resurrected will include new cinematics for both chapters, which will also be present in these tests, along with five of the game’s seven playable classes.
