Fallout 4 indeed not headed to the PS3 and the Xbox 360

Bethesda Softworks has finally put to rest all the wild rumors that were claiming that Fallout 4 will be released for the PS3 and the Xbox 360. It has been confirmed that the extremely anticipated role-playing game won’t be reaching these two last-gen platforms, with only the PS4, the Xbox One and PC being its three main playing grounds.

Fallout 4 was unveiled to the world with a teaser trailer a few days ago. This video showcased footage from the game, and hardcore fans were disappointed a bit to see that the title’s graphics were not up to today’s mark. Many believed that this was due to the fact that they have been downscaled in order to work on old consoles.

However that’s indeed not the case, as has been confirmed Bethesda’s global community lead, Matt Grandstaff on NeoGAF. This leaves FIFA 16 and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to be the only big games slated to hit the PS3 and the Xbox 360 later this year. We’ll probably see more titles at the upcoming E3 though.

Fallout 4 too will be fully unveiled along with a gameplay showcase at the same event in Los Angeles. It is set in a post-apocalyptic world around 200 years following a huge war over resources, that ended in a nuclear holocaust in 2077. The game’s primary setting is Boston and its surrounding Massachusetts countryside.

Although a definite release date for it hasn’t been announced, reports have pointed out that it will be arriving in the market this year.
