Dark Souls 2 PC requirements out in the open

If there’s one game PC gamers are awaiting the most right now, it’s got to be Dark Souls 2. As a leak had pointed out earlier this month, this action role-playing game developed by From Software will be released for the said platform on April 25, and we now have its PC requirements outlined, so gamers can prepare their systems accordingly.

Dark Souls 2

Let us start with the minimum requirements at first. As revealed by its makers, anything from Windows XP SP3 to Windows 8 will be able to run Dark Souls 2. A 3.2GHz AMD Phenom II X2 555 or a 3.17GHz Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo E8500 processor will be needed to get the basic output from the game, whereas 2GB worth of RAM has also been described as a minimum requirement for Dark Souls 2. An Nvidia GeForce 9600GT GPU or an ATI Radeon HD 5870 GPU will at least be required to run the game properly.

Coming to the recommended system specs, Windows 7 SP1 has surprisingly been described as the best platform. In the processor department, a 3.1GHz Intel Core i3 2100 or a 3GHz AMD A8 3870K unit has been suggested. Dark Souls will also ask for 4GB worth of RAM in order to perform at its full capability, while an Nvidia GeForce GTX 465 GPU or higher or an ATI Radeon HD 6870 GPU or higher will be needed to extract its full potential.

Dark Souls 2 will eat up 14GB worth of storage on your PCs, so better be prepared for that. While this PC version will be released on April 25, its console editions are slated to arrive March 11.
