Reaper of Souls expansion for Diablo 3 gets a release date

Diablo 3 is set to be blessed with its first expansion dubbed Reaper of Souls on March 25, 2014. This release date applies to both its PC as well as Mac versions, and of course, it will be doled out physically and in digital form. Blizzard has revealed that both these versions can now be pre-ordered by those interested in expanding their Diablo 3 experience.

Reaper of Souls

The Standard Edition of Reaper of Souls can be pre-purchased at a price of 39.99 USD (approx. Rs 2,480). While this version includes nothing but the expansion itself, the 59.99 USD (approx. Rs 3,730) Digital Deluxe Edition grants you access to three additional character slots, minions, a treasure goblin pet and decals for StarCraft 2, apart from a digital copy of Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls of course.

And then there’s even a special Collector’s Edition exclusive to certain retailers. This box will net you all the contents of the Digital Deluxe Edition, and will also provide you with goodies like a hardback art book, a mousepad and a behind the scenes Blu-Ray/DVD set. It will set you back by 79.99 (approx. Rs 4,970).

The Reaper of Souls expansion for Diablo 3 is currently in closed beta mode. Although no plans about an open beta have been made public yet, let’s hope fans are treated to one prior to the March 25 release date. Blizzard has also revealed that this expansion will be headed to the console versions of the game sometime in the future, but right now no time frame has been specified.
