Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix announced for 2014 release

Kingdom Hearts fans have something more to rejoice about, even as Square Enix has announced plans to release a Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix compilation next year, exclusively for the PS3. For those wondering what this package will include, it will come equipped with copies of a Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix, Birth by Sleep Final Mix and remastered HD cinematics from Re:coded. The two former games will thus be making their western debuts, for they were only launched in Japan back in the days.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix is being touted as a follow-up to the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix compilation which came out earlier this year, and gave gamers a chance to relive some of the other classic memories associated with the series. Apart from high-definition graphics, titles from the HD 2.5 Remix will kick in other additions as well.

On the other hand, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix was a PSP offering which too wasn’t launched outside the Asian country. Kingdom Hearts Re:coded was released for the DS, and it’s for the first time that it will be made available for the PS3.

Through the official PlayStation blog, Square Enix has revealed that more than 20 million units of the Kingdom Hearts series have been sold worldwide till date. And with Kingdom Hearts III gearing up to hit the PS4 and the Xbox One in the future, that number is sure to be inflated considerably.
