Dragon Age 3: Inquisition Announced

Along with as little details as possible, Dragon Age 3: Inquisition has been announced by BioWare to be under development from its Edmonton and Montreal studios. This game will be released in late 2013, although no platform information has been revealed by the developer.

Another interesting piece of information is that it will be created using a new engine based on DICE’s Frostbite 2 technology which we’ve seen recently in Battlefield 3 and Need for Speed: The Run. BioWare has confirmed that this upcoming game will contain the same kind of rich storytelling and deep RPG gameplay which the series is known for.

Aaryn Flynn, General Manager of BioWare Edmonton and BioWare Montreal, revealed “The Dragon Age team has been working on Dragon Age 3: Inquisition for almost two years now. We’ve been poring over player feedback from past games and connecting directly with our fans. They haven’t held back, so we’re not either. With Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, we want to give fans what they’re asking for – a great story with choices that matter, a massive world to explore, deep customization and combat that is both tactical and visceral.”

The first title in the series was released in the form of Dragon Age: Origins which came out in 2009 for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Mac. Next in line was Dragon Age II which was launched last year in March for the same platforms. A number of novels, an animated film, comic books as well as collectibles have also been spawned under the franchise.

Dragon Age 3 Inquisition is scheduled to arrive in late 2013. The platforms are yet to be specified.
