Mass Effect 2 Sells 2 Million Copies in First Week

Mass Effect 2 is the second installment in the role playing trilogy that is Mass Effect. The game launched worldwide towards the end of January, and even made it to our Hottest Gaming News in the month of January 2010. And BioWare has announced that Mass Effect 2 has sold over 2 million copies worldwide within just a week of its launch, according to internal EA data.

Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder, BioWare and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA said, “Mass Effect 2 is poised to be one of the biggest games of 2010. We could not be more proud of the game’s universal acclaim and early commercial success.”

Mass Effect 2 is set in a vast universe full of unpredictable alien life and mysterious planets. The game features intense action, a rich storyline and excellent visuals, and has Commander Shepard leading a crew comprising of operatives from all over the galaxy, on an extremely challenging mission. Mass Effect 2 is available for the Xbox 360 and PC.
