Diablo III is the upcoming third installment in the Diablo franchise. Earlier we reported on a rumour that the game would be coming before Christmas. Now 1UP is reporting that Blizzard is seriously considering a console port for Diablo III by “talking to the first parties”. The game has apparently been in development since 2005.
Some time ago there was talk of the developer bringing the latest game in the series to consoles, but it never seemed as serious as this. A tweet by GameTrailers TV host, Geoff Keighley goes something like, “Paul Sams [Chief Operating Officer] of Blizzard says they haven’t ruled out Diablo III for consoles – and are currently talking to the first parties.”
This is not one hundred percent confirmed yet, since there has not been any official word on the matter. But from all of Blizzard’s IPs, Diablo III seems like the most sensible to be ported to consoles. Hopefully we should hear more about this soon.
