Persona 3 FES for PS2 Coming to North America, says Atlus

Video games publisher Atlus is well known for bringing great games from Japan to the western market. Now Atlus has sent word that they will be releasing Persona 3 FES for the PlayStation 2 in North America. The role playing game is expected to have more than one hundred and twenty hours of gameplay.

Persona 3 FES will have an improved version of the original game loaded with new content as well as features. The game is about a group of high school students who are fighting the sinister Shadows during the Dark Hour whilst exploring the mysterious tower Tartarus. Dark Hour is a frozen span of time that is known only to certain people. Persona 3 was one of the best role playing games in 2007 and Atlus claims that Persona 3 FES is more than just an expansion.

The game is expected to have new Personas and cutscenes along with a weapon synthesis system. There will be more quests and events, a hard difficulty mode and the capability to alter your character’s clothes in Persona 3 FES. Gamers can expect a new chapter that will have more than thirty hours of gameplay, where they take on the role of Aigis. It will also feature seventeen new music tracks as well as extra objectives and cutscenes.

Atlus has stated that it does not need the Persona 3 to play as Persona 3 FES is a stand-alone product. Gamers would be glad to know that they will be able to transfer their saved files from the original game. Not only can they import the Persona compendium in FES, they are also not required to finish the original game in advance as the new story is accessible from the beginning

Persona 3 FES has been developed in-house by Atlus. The game is expected to release for the PS2 on April 22, 2008. It will come with a price tag of $29.99 (approx. Rs. 1200).
