There have been many rumors about a new Knights of the Old Republic game lately. In fact, a few days ago, there were speculations that a new KOTOR game is in development at BioWare. However, Electronic Arts (EA) has come out and indicated that a new KOTOR game is NOT being developed.
A spokesperson with Electronic Arts got in touch with gaming news website Eurogamer.net and said that the references in a presentation to analysts by EA CEO John Riccitiello were about past portfolio releases and not specifically addressing future sequels. He added, “The MMO in development at Bioware Austin is listed a ‘New MMO’. We apologise for any confusion this may have caused.”
Even LucasArts has denied about a new Knights of the Old Republic game. They spoke about their relationship with Bioware and confirmed that it has nothing to do with KOTOR. The role playing game was released in 2003 and got a nice reception from the critics and the gamers. But it would be great to see an MMOG based in the KOTOR universe.
