One of the best things that is happening with old video game titles is that they are making a comeback on online services like Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA), The Virtual Console (VC) and the PlayStation Network (PSN). Now Activision has sent word that they will be putting up Vigilante 8: Arcade on the XBLA.
Vigilante 8: Arcade is an all new remake of the original classic vehicular-combat game. It will have online play with up to eight players. There will be lots of new content. Activision has said that the game will fully exploit the next-generation technologies.
Vigilante 8: Arcade is being developed by Isopod Labs. The game will be released via download on the Xbox Live Arcade in the spring of 2008. Vigilante 8 debuted in 1998 and has been released on the PlayStation, Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Color. The game is a spin-off of the vehicular combat PC game, PC game Interstate ’76.
