Tetris Blockout for Mobile Phones announced by EA

A few months ago, Electronic Arts (EA) had released a new mobile game similar to the Tetris called as Block’d. Now EA Mobile has sent word that they have rolled out one more game from the Tetris franchise called as Tetris Blockout for the mobile platform. Tetris was one of the most downloaded mobile games in 2007, according to a study by Nielsen Mobile.

The main aim of Tetris Blockout is to tactically rotate and place falling blocks into the 3-D playing field whilst clearing planes as fast as they can. The game has three different play modes, classic Marathon, 20 Planes and race-the-clock Ultra. It features adjustable difficulty levels as well as vivid and colorful graphics.

Travis Boatman is the vice president of worldwide studios at EA Mobile. He stated, “Tetris has been hugely successful on handheld devices since the game was first introduced over 20 years ago. Recent advancements in mobile phones, which include enhanced graphics and processing speeds, have allowed us to create a fun, new version of the game with Tetris Blockout. We have kept all the thrills and immersive gameplay of the original and added a brand new twist.”

Tetris Blockout has been released on major wireless carriers throughout North America and Europe. When we visited the site, the lowest price was listed at $2.99 (approx. Rs. 120).
