Just more than a year ago, we were given our first glimpse of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and we can expect to see the game on store shelves around a year from now. Fall 2023 has been revealed to be the release window developer Insomniac Games is targeting.

However, no exact release date has been outlined. Moreover, details about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 also remain slim. We do know that it will build on the mechanics of its predecessors and feature both protagonists from the earlier games.

It’s likely that both Peter Parker and Miles Morales will be playable in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. In the game’s first look trailer, we were also given a look at Venom, who will be one of the villains in this upcoming entry to the much-loved series.

Bryan Intihar, Creative Director at Insomniac Games, has said “What a year it’s been for PlayStation Studios; here at Insomniac Games we’ve been in absolute awe of the work of our peers.”

He added, “Congrats to everyone on a successful 2022… and here’s to next year being just as exciting as we continue to get Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ready for release next fall.

Marvel’s Spider-Man came out in 2018 for the PS4 and was met with immense acclaim, mainly for its story and web-swinging traversal mechanics. In 2020, it was released for the PS5, while a PC release took place in August 2022.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales was a spin-off of sorts and made its debut on the PS4 and the PS5 in 2020 and on PC in November this year. It featured the same gameplay as the original but had Miles Morales as the main protagonist.

As we said, an exact release date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has not been announced yet. It will be launched only for the PS5.
