Sony ready to show PS5 games next week

PS5 Controller

Sony has just announced that it will be holding a livestream on June 4 to showcase footage from PS5 games. With E3 having been canceled, several publishers will be holding such sessions in the coming weeks, hopefully. About an hour’s worth of fresh footage from upcoming PS5 games will be on offer through this livestream. However, we have absolutely no idea about what games to expect. The event will take place on the said date at 1pm PDT and 9pm UK time.

Jim Ryan, President and CEO, Sony Interactive Entertainment said on the PlayStation blog, “There are few things as exciting as the launch of a new console. While this road to launch has been a bit…different, we are as thrilled as ever to bring you with us on this journey to redefine the future of videogames. We’ve shared technical specifications and shown you the new DualSense wireless controller. But what is a launch without games? That’s why I’m excited to share that we will soon give you a first look at the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday. The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe. Studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware.”

Since there’s still no mention of whether we’ll get to see the actual console at the event, you can stop counting on that happening. Sony has only given us a look at the next-gen DualSense wireless controller, which comes with adaptive triggers that can change their resistance as necessary. Improved haptic feedback is also in the offing, among other things.

Sony will broadcast this livestream on Twitch as well as YouTube on June 3.
