Batman And Beyond: Adam West’s Best Video Game Appearances

batman Adam West will always be most well-known for playing Batman in the 1960s television series, although in modern times, he has become famous for playing a version of himself in the animated comedy series Family Guy. Before the iconic actor died from leukemia in 2017 at the age of 88, West clocked up an incredible twelve video game appearances, either as a playable character or as the voice of a character. Here is our rundown of his best game appearances.

Golden Nugget

West’s first appearance in a video game was way back in 1996. The gambling simulation game Golden Nugget first appeared as a Microsoft Windows game. In 1997, a PlayStation version was released. It features sixteen casino games, including baccarat, craps, pai gow poker, and roulette. Today, most people prefer playing such classic games at online casinos; and the games have come a long way since the 1990s. For instance, people can now play roulette at a live casino, in which players play in real-time with real-life croupiers. But back in 1996, casino games were limited to consoles and PCs. Golden Nugget attempted to go above and beyond other gambling games of the era by including a storyline mode. The story involves a character played by Adam West trying to locate a computer chip that can topple the entire gambling system of Las Vegas. Scenes were filmed at the real Golden Nugget casino in Las Vegas. While West did not actually play Batman in the game, there was a nod to his most famous portrayal in the form of his game character’s secret crime lab.

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham

Despite there being two Lego Batman games before Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, it was the first to feature West as the Caped Crusader. The video game, which is available on a wide variety of platforms, features a touching and lengthy homage to West’s Batman of the 1960s television show. There is a whole level based on sets from the series and West’s Batman is a playable character. If you miss the original Batman show, you will love playing level 66 of Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham.
