PUBG Lite Closing Down Soon

PUBG Lite

The end of April will be curtains for PUBG Lite, the version of the game meant for those with low-end computers. The news comes straight from the developers of the said game, who haven’t provided any reason for the decision. April 29 is when the game’s servers will shut down for good, they have announced.

A statement released by them, said, “We are deeply grateful for the passion and support from the astounding number of PUBG Lite fans that have been with us. During the strenuous times of the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope that PUBG Lite was able to provide our fans a fun way to stay safe. Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to close service after much deliberation and the time has come for our journey to end. We regretfully inform you that service of PUBG Lite is scheduled to end on April 29th, 2021 (UTC).”

If you’re a PUBG Lite fan, these are your final days of getting to play the game. You will even be able to spend your in-game credits as normal, including the L-COIN that you already own. There exists a PUBG Mobile Lite version as well, but it won’t be affected by this change in any way.

As part of their April Fool prank, the makers of PUBG released a full-fledged mini-game recently, titled POBG (Playeromnomnom’s Battlegrounds). Accessible through the game’s main menu, this mini-game is an arcade-style offering that has you fighting rooms full of chickens, who parachute from the sky and immediately start firing their guns at you. We have to say, seeing the quality of this mini-game, the developers seem to have put in a lot of effort for this year’s April Fool’s prank.

Coming back to PUBG Lite, as we said, you can continue to play the game till its April 29 deadline arrives.
