Alan Wake Boxed PC Version to be Released by Nordic Games

Following the signing of a publishing deal with Remedy, Nordic Games has disclosed that a boxed PC version of Alan Wake will be launched by it. This package will also come equipped with two DLCs – The Signal and The Writer, which were released for the Xbox Live Arcade version of the game.

Said to be an intense psychological thriller, this title’s story revolves around Alan who is a best-selling suspense author suffering from writer’s block. Upon escaping to a small town, he is encountered with the mysterious disappearance of his wife. A major highlight in its gameplay is the use of light as a combat element. As his enemies gain strength from shadows, Alan is required to use the available light skillfully.

Lars Wingefors, CEO of Nordic Games GmbH, revealed, “It goes without saying that we are very happy and proud to work together with some of the greatest talents and artists of the games industry. We are really looking forward to the PC version of Alan Wake, especially as we are talking about a fantastic PC adaptation thereof, rather than a mere porting of the code. We will talk about this in more detail in the upcoming weeks,”

This game kicks in an episodic narrative which involves a mission-based structure. With the progress of its episodes, the title’s gameplay supposedly evolves to introduce new elements and characters. A follow up to this offering, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is slated hit Xbox Live on February 22 as part of the Xbox Live Arcade House Party.

A definite release date for the boxed PC version of Alan Wake is yet to be revealed by the publisher.
