PC gamers will be able to treat themselves to some third-person shooter and RTS action, as Gettysburg: Armored Warfare will be launched tomorrow through Steam and other digital distribution platforms. Developed by Radioactive Software and published by Paradox Interactive, this title is said to offer an alternate take on the American Civil War.

It has also been revealed that the developer will continue to support the game post launch by creating its editor and adding tools for players to mod the title as they wish. The game’s narrative features a twist to the Civil War, pitting Union and Confederate troops against each other, with all of them possessing futuristic weapons. Both the sides will be seen battling over control points, and rounds will end when one team reaches zero attrition points.
Gordon Van Dyke, Senior Producer at Paradox Interactive, explained, “Gettysburg: Armored Warfare will bring the fast action of a third-person shooter and the deep strategy experiences of an RTS together in a unique way. It’s amazing to see the game come together and deliver on the fun factor we were shooting for, and the fact that a one-man team was able to pull that off is nothing short of spectacular.”

This hybrid of a third-person shooter and an RTS will feature 64 players per server. It will offer a number of game modes, two of them being Army Skirmish and Deathmatch. A total of four maps will form part of this title, which also offers an Integrated World Editor trait for gamers to create their own battlefields.
Gettysburg: Armored Warfare will be released for PC tomorrow through Steam and other platforms. It will retail at a price of 9.99 USD (approx. Rs. 510).
