Theatrhythm Final Fantasy has finally received an official announcement from Square Enix, with the publisher also having revealed crucial details regarding the 3DS title. The first ever music game from the extremely popular Final Fantasy series will be released in Europe and PAL territories this summer.
The game is said to be a celebration of the greatest musical moments from the history of the Final Fantasy series. It has been developed by indieszero, a studio known for creating a number of other rhythm game offerings. More than seventy musical scores spanning a total of twenty five years will form part of the title. Moreover, new environments and movie scenes from the original games would also form part of the offering.
2012 is the 25th Anniversary year for the Final Fantasy series, and with its nostalgia-inducing music, addictive rhythm gameplay and charming art style, this game is expected to appeal to old as well as new fans. Players will be able to bring together four Final Fantasy heroes of their choice as they play through their favorite music from the series. Three distinct stage styles – Field, Battle and Event, will be available for them to choose from.
Moreover, a range of difficulty levels would also be proffered. Completing stages and leveling up the characters will result in fresh content getting unlocked. This includes new music, movie scenes and more.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is yet to receive a specific release date, but it has been confirmed that the game will be out for the 3DS this summer.
