The much craved for high-definition update for the PC version of the classic Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is finally here, and can be downloaded now for free by all those who own the game. A limited time promotional offer which slapped a 30 percent discount on the game was available only till today. This Xbox game was launched for PC in December 2010 as a straight port of the original title containing no graphical alterations.
With the current update, a total of twelve all-new Steam achievements have been introduced. Moreover, players will now be able to unlock concept art pieces and movie extras following the completing each of the title’s regions. Some improvements to its controls also make their way into the game. The HD aspect of the update enhances each of the eighty four character models with increased polygon counts and textures with higher resolutions. Besides, all the title’s environments have also been given higher resolution textures.
Players will be able to switch between new difficulty levels, whereas they will even be getting support for fresh languages. French and German audio has been added, and full text translations have been introduced for French, German, Italian and Spanish languages. Stranger’s Wrath tells the story of a fearsome bounty hunter who has set out to capture outlaws in order to gather enough money for a mysterious surgical procedure.
Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath now sells on Steam at 9.99 USD (approx. Rs. 540). It is also available to purchase through the PS Store for the PS3, while a PS Vita version is scheduled to arrive later on.
