Last month Valve revealed Team Fortress 2 for the Mac platform and gave Mac players a set of free in-game earbuds. Now Valve announces another Team Fortress 2 update, this time for the engineer. The Engineer Update, Valve says, is the largest single-class update for the action game.
Valve’s latest update is set to introduce new maps, items, achievements and more features. The company has in place a system wherein it issues Golden Wrenches to players and every twenty-fifth Wrench unlocks more information about this massive update. The Engineer Update goes live today, Thursday, July 8, 2010.
35 Achievements have been added including Quick Draw, Fistful of Sappers, Six-String Stinger, Uncivil Engineer, and more. The Wrangler replaces the pistol, creating a shield which absorbs 66 percent of all incoming attacks, while the Frontier Justice replaces the Shotgun and gets “Revenge Crits” instead of random crits. Players even receive bonus crits with the Frontier Justice when the Engineer’s sentry is destroyed.
