Battleforge is the card based real time strategy game in which players must trade, buy and win, by means of micro-transactions. Now the developer of the game, EA Phenomic has announced that Battleforge has become a Play 4 Free branded game and can be obtained by all players as a free download. The free version is available on the game’s official website and players can even keep themselves up to date on the game via Twitter.
All players now have easy access to the game and with the new players jumping into the gameplay, the community is expected to see a new level of growth. Players will have access to all of Battleforge’s scenarios and community features, plus 32 out of the 200 trading cards involved as well as the Renegade campaign. More cards can be obtained by purchasing points online. The retail version of the game is still being sold at 29.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,420) which comes with 3000 Battleforge Points and cards from all the 4 factions in the game.
Battleforge unites elements of fantasy, magical spells, trading cards and strategy and features real time gameplay in 3D graphics. Single player scenarios are available in the game as well as co-operative scenarios which allow from 2 to 12 players to take part. Battleforge also features Player vs. Player ranked duels. Battleforge is the first real time strategy game to combine MMO elements such as community aspects, with an RTS game.
