The Sims 3 has gone Gold, says EA

Recently, we saw that The Sims 3 would not have DRM protection. EA had also sent word that it would have full online and community features and the game was even delayed once. Now according to IGN, EA has announced that The Sims 3 has gone gold for PC and Mac, and will be shipping to retailers on time.

The Sims 3 packs for fans, the ability to create their own Sim in the Create a Sim Mode, with short-term and long-term goals. Players can customize their Sims giving them five traits from a choice of many which includes artistic, brave, clumsy, kleptomaniac, paranoid and romantic. Going online, players can even download a variety of in-game items like furniture and clothing.

The game is expected to hit shelves on June 2, 2009 and will be available for purchase at retail and online via digital distribution for 49.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,460). Apparently, select retailers will also have a Collector’s Edition which is expected to cost around 69.99 USD (approx. Rs. 3,445). The Collector’s Edition will contain the game, along with an in-game sports car which is European-styled, a 2 GB ‘The Sims Plumbob’ USB drive, The Sims 3 Plumbob stickers pack and a strategy or cheats guide.
