Gore in Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway Defended by Gearbox

There have been many violent games, some have been fighting games, some driving game sand some first person shooters. When the new trailer of Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway was released, many gasped at the gore in it. But now Gearbox Software has defended the gore in the game.

Brothers in Arms Hells Highway

Jeremy Cooke is the director of Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway. He told the MTV Multiplayer blog, “I can’t say that we ever consciously said ‘well, what role does the gore play in the game? We knew it was a risk. On the one hand, we don’t want to make it just over-the-top and totally ridiculous and just gore for its own sake. We never had that goal to ‘well, let’s make the most awesomest gore ever.’ We had really set out to make it sort of surprising and powerful because you can’t talk about war and not have it.”

Jeremy Cooke is of the view that there will be people who will say that they don’t believe how horrible it is. However, he explained that if the realism is reduced in war shooters, then it would like sugar coating the experience of the people who had fought in the world wars. Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway is expected to be out later this year on the PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC platforms.
