WCG 2008 India Winners Declared

A few weeks ago, we had reported that the dates for WCG India 2008 were revealed. The gaming tournament was supposed to take place in three cities but it ended up being held in two apparently. Though the Mumbai rounds of WCG India this year were held on Friday, the India finals were held on November 25, 2008 at Nehru Planetarium in Mumbai.

Counter-Strike: Mikhei Mehra, Ben Vergheese, Ritesh Shah, Prunay Bhatia, Poojan Mehta.

Warcraft III: Nickunj Bansal.

Asphalt 4: Nalin Nagpal.

Need for Speed Pro Street: Arun Singh Ravi.

FIFA Soccer 2008: Reuben Pereira.

The WCG 2008 India gaming tournament was sponsored by Samsung. The director of marketing at the Samsung South West Asia HQ, Y Y Kim said, “We are very encouraged by the response we have received for the World Cyber Games and expect the Indian team to better their performance this year, at the World Cyber Games event at Cologne, Germany.”

WCG 2008 India 2

The World Cyber Games 2008 will take place in at Cologne, Germany from November 5, 2008 to November 9, 2008. The finalists, besides getting the chance to represent India at WCG 2008, also took home a lot of goodies. These included the Samsung G600 phone as well as the Samsung ML 2245 printer.
