Indiagames has announced details about the India national qualifiers of the World Cyber Games (WCG) 2007. This time around, the WCG India qualifiers will take place in seven cities, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Delhi and Pune. The WCG 2007 India qualifiers will begin on August 11, 2007.

The India Finals of WCG 2007 will take place on September 9, 2007 in Mumbai. Gamers will compete against each other on games like Counter Strike, FIFA, Need for Speed, WarCraft and Age of Empires on the PC and Project Gotham Racing on the Xbox 360 platform. And if you are wondering what is the prize money at the WCG 2007 India qualifiers? Well it is a whooping Rs.15 Lahks!
And that’s not all, 10 finalists from the India qualifiers of WCG 2007 will be flown on an all expense paid trip to Seattle to represent the country in the global finals. Here they will compete for the USD 300,000 (approx. Rs.1.20 Crores) prize money. The theme for WCG 2007 is Beyond the Game, which means the WCG is not just a world game tournament but also combines the world to make accord and enjoyment through the shared emotions.
India’s largest software and IT trade body NASSCOM as well as the CII are supporting WCG. However, you will have to wait till Monday to register for the WCG India qualifiers. They are scheduled to begin on July 23, 2007.
