Mass Effect Banned in Singapore

Singapore has often been called the nanny state and now gamers over there have been facing the wrath of the strict government over there. Strait Times is reporting that Singapore has banned the eagerly awaited Xbox 360 game, Mass Effect as it has a sex scene between a woman and an alien female.

This is the first time that a Microsoft game has been banned in Singapore. In fact, Singapore is the only country in the world where Mass Effect has been banned. Earlier this year, Singapore had decided not to give special rights to homosexuals as it wants to uphold its conservative values. But this is not the first time that a video game title has been banned in Singapore. Previously games such as God Of War 2 and The Darkness have been banned for nudity and excessive violence as well as religiously offensive expletives respectively.

The banning of Mass Effect in Singapore has not gone down well with the gamers over there as well as in other countries and gaming forums all over the gaming world show gamers fuming over the ban.
