After releasing the GeForce 8 Series line-up for the mid-range user last month, NVIDIA has now decided to launch something for the hardcore gamer. They have announced the launch of GeForce 8800 Ultra graphics card, touted to be the world’s fastest graphics processing unit (GPU).
The GeForce 8800 Ultra performs an average of between ten to fifteen percent faster than the GeForce 8800 GTX GPU, which was considered as the fastest graphics processing unit on the planet. It will let the users experience high-resolution, visually rich gaming and high-definition video playback with support for Blu-ray and HD DVD content. Gamers are in for a treat as gaming platforms built with any nForce 600 Series motherboard are forward compatible with the new Intel processors with support for 1333FSB technology.
In addition, NVIDIA’s nForce 680i SLI-based motherboards for Intel processors will provide the fastest and most feature-rich platform for the GeForce 8800 Ultra. NVIDIA has also stated that developers of forthcoming big game titles like Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, Crysis, Age of Conan, Company of Heroes: Opposing, Hellgate: London Fronts, World in Conflict, BioShock, PT Boats, and Cryostasis are preferring the GeForce 8800 Ultra graphics card.

GeForce 8800 Ultra graphics card by NVIDIA is expected to cost around 699 Euros (approx. Rs. 39, 200).
