“Law & Order” Video Game to Target More Players

Law & Order: Criminal Intent developers, Legacy Interactive are trying something new by offering consumers the choice to buy it in separate installments from NBC.com as well as from more familiar sources like Yahoo! Games.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent Legacy Interactive producer Craig Brannon said, “We’re targeting a different market that didn’t know there even was a PC game with this downloadable, episodic content. Most casual games customers don’t go to Best Buy. They find games while sitting at home. If all goes well, we hope to do original episodic games going forward. Existing “L&O” games won’t translate to episodic content because they follow a single, extended story line.”

The company is trying the episodic market with “Criminal Intent,” and might follow this model with the “ER” game too. There will be four episodes of “Law & Order: Vengeful Heart.” The first is available for free to try or for $20 to purchase. The full four-episode is available on CD-ROM as well for $30 at retailers and from NBC.com.
