Electronic Arts has announced that EA Sports Complex, the innovative feature has launched on the PlayStation Home, which is an online social gaming community depicted in 3D. This EA Sports space which has just been created, allows users to play many unique casual multiplayer games against friends in the PlayStation Home. Players can also view exclusive videos on the EA Sports Complex which at launch will feature EA Sports Racing and a Texas Hold ‘Em Poker game in the style of a tournament.
“We are extremely proud of the compelling and immersive online offerings that are available at launch for EA Sports Complex,” exclaimed Rob Burnett, senior producer. “EA Sports Complex is a dynamic space and was specifically designed to appeal to not only the hardcore sports fan but casual gamers alike.”
In the tournament stylings of a Texas Hold ‘Em Poker game, players can challenge up to eight friends as they bet, check and bluff their way to a seat at the high roller table. Besides poker, gamers can take part in EA Sports Racing, zipping around the track against their friends or to achieve the best times while driving formula-style cars. Also, EA Sports Golf will be coming soon and the EA Sports Complex will be getting in the near future, poker bracelets, leaderboards and a rewards system. EA Sports Complex is available in Europe and North America and the space will be coming to other territories and in other languages soon.
Apart from playing games, players can view game trailers in the EA Sports Complex and can even share their experiences and chat with others. The space will be expanded with environments based on franchises to give a new refreshing experience and additional games. Internet connection is needed in order to use the EA Sports Complex feature.
