Ninja Gaiden and Phantasy Star Coming to American VC

The Ninja Gaiden series has been a favorite with many gamers and Nintendo has come out with games from the franchise on the Virtual Console. This week, American Wii gamers can expect Ninja Gaiden III – The Ancient Ship of Doom and Phantasy Star II will on the Virtual Console.

The first game we have is Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom. The game was first released on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Gamers take the role of the last member of the famous Dragon Clan, Ryu Hayabusa. The game is the third and final chapter of the legendary Ninja Gaiden saga. The game is about Ryu who is clearing his name as he is framed for FBI agent Irene Lew’s murder. The game has improved game-play mechanics as Ryu can grab on to horizontal surfaces, has reduced falling speed and changed jumping maneuvers as well as visible power-ups.

Phantasy Star II on Wii VC

The second game is Phantasy Star II. The role playing game debuted on Sega Genesis. It features an epic story line and turn-based battles. Gamers can play as Rolf, Nei, Rudo or a number of other characters as they find their way through the Algol star system battling the evil Dark Force.

Ninja Gaiden III will cost 500 Wii Points. As for Phantasy Star II, the game is a little expensive as it comes for some 800 Wii Points. These two games are already up on the American VC and gamers can go to the Wii Shop Channel to get them.
