Zapak has an interesting catalog of games on its website and they are now expanding their content by offering even more online games. Now Zapak Digital Entertainment has sent word that they have secured a deal with Chinese video game giants Shanda. The ADAG subsidiary is bringing their online racing game Crazy Kart to India.
Rajesh Sawhney is the President of Reliance Entertainment. He quoted, “We are proud to partner with Shanda, China’s largest online game company, to create significant inroads in the online game space in India. We believe that based on Shanda’s strength in development and Zapak’s leading position in the Indian market, Crazy Kart will record great success in the future.”
Sawhney added that the online racing game is the first step of the two parties’ long-term strategic partnership. They are planning to get more entertainment content to the Indian market in the future from Shanda. Crazy Kart features competitive multiplayer game modes and has a cartoon-themed design style.
Qunzhao Tan, President & CTO, Shanda Interactive Entertainment stated, “We are very excited to work with Zapak, India’s top game company, in bringing our high-quality Crazy Kart to Indian users. This marks another significant milestone since we initiate our efforts to explore overseas opportunities last year. Our partnership signifies an alliance between the two leading game companies in China and India, and we are very optimistic about a long-term collaboration going forward.”
Crazy Kart game has been developed in-house by Shanda. As of now, the game is under closed-beta testing in India but it is expected to be out in Q2 2008. The online racing game is quite popular in China and has been recognized as the top casual game for teenagers by the Ministry of Culture in 2008. Besides China, Crazy Kart has been released in Vietnam, HK and Thailand.
