The FIFA Interactive World Cup is becoming a very popular tournament and EA as well as Sony are going all guns blazing to promote it. Now two-time FIFA World Player of the Year Ronaldinho is inviting fans all over the world to register and compete in FIFA 08 on the PS3.
Brazilian Ronaldinho who plies his trade in Europe with FC Barcelona said, “The FIFA Interactive World Cup is a fantastic opportunity for all football fans to show off their skills and passion for the sport with FIFA 08. It is a great tournament in which you have to train and work hard to succeed, just like in real football, so I invite all fans to register and enjoy this party of interactive football.”
The first live qualifying events have already begun in Denmark, the Netherlands and Hungary and will now go to Korea, Portugal and a total of over 20 locations worldwide. The finals are scheduled to take place on May 24, 2008 at the Sony Centre in Berlin where thirty-two finalists compete with each other for $20,000 (approx. Rs. 792,700) as well as a chance to go to the FIFA World Player Gala 2008.
As for the Indian leg of the FIFA Interactive World Cup, EA India GM had spoken to GameGuru.in about it and had said it would hit here in January 2008.
