XBLA File Size Increased to 250 MB by Microsoft

XBLA File Size Increased Microsoft has finally increased the file size of the Xbox Live Arcade to 250 MB. Earlier the size was limited to just 50 MB. This is what they had to say about the size expansion:

“There is already one probable solution in the works for this category of gamer should we decide to increase the Xbox Live Arcade game file size from its current 50 MB limit. As announced at E3 last May, a larger Memory Unit is being developed which will let gamers who do not own a hard drive to store and easily transport several Xbox Live Arcade games at a time. We have no further details to announce at this time.”

The 50 MB size limit had created problems for gamers who owned the Core version of Xbox 360. Microsoft had to increase the size for “Castlevania: Symphony of the Night”, as the game itself was 96 MB in size. The XBLA File Size could be increased to 450 MB, but special permission from Microsoft would be required. The 256 MB Memory Unit card could release in March 2007, the cost of the card is likely to be $59.99 (approx. Rs. 2700).
