Usually gaming companies use games shows to announce new games or give out details of new products. But at TGS 2007, Sony has stated that their forthcoming social networking and online gaming service for the PS3, Home has been delayed until 2008 as they want to ‘truly meet the needs and feedback of the users’.
Kaz Hirai, who happens to be Sony Computer Entertainment’s President and Group COO, spoke about this at his Tokyo Game Show keynote address. He says, “I’m sorry about the delay, but since we want this to be a worldwide service, our territories all have their own wishes for it, it’s taking a bit longer for us to develop. We want Home to be satisfactory to all types of users around the world, so we decided to delay it.”
As of now, Home is in the beta phase and an invite only beta is expected in some time. Sony better not delay it further as PS3 gamers are eagerly waiting for the amazing service.
