Hudson Soft has sent word that Turbo CD and Super CD game softwares will be available for download via the Virtual Console for the Nintendo Wii. But gamers will have to shell out 800 Wii Points per title.
Hudson Soft aims to come out with more than 5 titles in 2007 and over 10 titles next year. Japanese gamers will be able to get the games early as it will be available in the land of the rising sun in October. Afterwards the Turbo CD and Super CD game softwares will be made available in North America, Europe and Australia.
Last year, Hudson Soft had launched its Virtual Console business and as of now nearly 49 titles are available in Japan and a striking amount of titles are being distributed outside Japan. However, now gamers who use the Nintendo Wii will be able to play games originally created especially for CD-ROM media, besides the TurboGrafx-16 game titles already available via the VC.
The late eighties and the early nineties were dominated by Sega and Nintendo. The TurboGrafx-16 (or the PC-Engine, as it is called in Japan) was also a favorite among the gamers but had lost out due to the lack of third party software. However, it’s a great thing that the Wii gamers are getting games from that platform to play!
