Zelda II: The Adventure of Link will be the 100th Game on American VC

To counter Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade, Nintendo had come out with a unique service known as Virtual Console in which they uploaded all retro games. Now, Nintendo has sent word that Zelda II: The Adventure of Link will be the 100th game on the American VC.

They also stated that since November 19, 2006, more than 4.7 million classic games have been downloaded from Wii’s Virtual Console. That means, around a thousand games were downloaded every hour since the launch. Here is the list of the top five classic games:

  • Super Mario 64 (N64)
  • Mario Kart 64 (N64)
  • Super Mario World (SNES)
  • The Legend of Zelda (NES)

    Most of the games that are uploaded on the VC are from NES, SNES, Mega Drive and Turbografx. The European Virtual Console is not far behind. It also has 95 games to show off and it would hit the 100 mark in a couple of weeks.
