Double Dragon II Rips through This Week’s Nintendo Downloadable Games

Wii owners can gear themselves up for some classic co-op beat ’em up action, as Double Dragon II has gone live on the Virtual Console via this week’s update of Nintendo downloadable games. A port of the Wii game Order Up!! also releases for the 3DS, along with other titles.

Double Dragon II

Double Dragon II, which first came in 1988, is a sequel to the hit Arcade game Double Dragon. The game has players assuming the roles of brothers Billy and Jimmy Lee who are out to avenge the death of their common love interest, Marian. It is available now through the Virtual Console section of the Wii Shop Channel at 500 Points.

The 3DS title Order Up!! is being described to be a blend of cooking and empire building. It places gamers into the shoes of a top-notch chef and restaurateur who is tasked with preparing exotic food and achieving success in building his own restaurant empire. It can be downloaded through the eShop at a price of 9.99 USD (approx. Rs. 560). A free demo of the title is also available on the service.

Order Up

Slitherlink by Nikoli is another 3DS exclusive to hit this week’s Nintendo downloadable games. Priced at 4.99 USD (approx. Rs. 280), this game proffers players with Slitherlink puzzles that have been created by Nikoli. Two new DSiWare have also been launched this week in the form of Lola’s Fruit Shop Sudoku and Jewel Legends – Tree of Life.

While the former is a Sudoku game which can be played even by 4-year old children, the latter features tile-matching puzzles. Lola’s Fruit Shop Sudoku and Jewel Legends – Tree of Life sell on the DSi Shop at 200 Points and 500 Points, respectively. The final game in the latest downloadable list is Save the Furries which features 60 levels of puzzle-adventure, and retails on the Wii Shop Channel at 1000 Points.

This week’s Nintendo downloadable games also brings out a video of the track The Fighter by Gym Class Heroes for the Nintendo Video service.
