The release date of Rayman Legends for the Wii U has been announced by Ubisoft finally, along with the day on which its demo version will be launched through the eShop. This title will be coming out exclusively for Nintendo’s newest console on March 1, 2013, as far as Europe is concerned. And for North American fans, it will be landing on store shelves a tad earlier, on February 26. Its demo on the other hand, will be made available in both the regions through the Wii U’s eShop from as early as December 13.
Announced for the first time in April this year, the game will stick to the series’ platforming attributes, but will kick in a number of traits that will look to exploit the features of the Wii U. Single-player as well as multiplayer content will be infused into it. It is currently under development from Ubisoft Montpellier, and its designing duties are being handled by Michel Ancel, who’s credited to have created the series.
Rayman Legends will be seen flocked with a number of game modes, new characters, fresh environments and also an original soundtrack. It will be developed using an advanced version of the UbiArt engine which will help its maker in including multi-dimension gameplay elements. Moreover, an improved lighting system and revised game rendering will be present in it as well, granting the title some enhanced graphics.
The Wii U GamePad’s touchscreen will be available for players to be used in order to perform various actions, like stopping the enemies, manipulating platforms, cutting ropes and more. Co-op fans will be pleased to know that 5-player cooperative gameplay will be on offer with the title, with support for four Wii Remotes and one Wii U GamePad controller.
