Space Camp for Wii and Nintendo DS coming in June, says Activision

Activision Publishing has said that its action game Space Camp for the Wii and Nintendo DS systems will release sometime in June of this year. Space Camp gives players the opportunity to blast off into space and have twisted astronautical experiences.

Space Camp

Space Camp begins when players are stranded on the surface of the moon after a routine mission to it. Players must think up innovative ways to get back home safely. Controlling a robot, gamers must conduct scientific experiments, commandeer spacecraft and defend the moon from invaders. Apparently, the US Space & Rocket Center has collaborated with Activision for the game.

“We are excited to be partnered with Activision on this project,” remarked Larry Capps, CEO of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. “Thousands dream of going to space and this game gives you that chance to virtually explore and have fun with your friends and family.”

“What could be more fun than playing as an astronaut in a videogame?” exclaimed David Oxford, Activision Publishing. “This scenario offers a new perspective on using Wii and DS controls to craft a truly fresh, family friendly gameplay experience.”

Space Camp on the Wii offers the choice of any of various multiplayer modes such as Cooperative Mode and Party Mode. In Cooperative Mode, one player controls the main character while the other player is free to interact with the environment. Party Mode gives up to four players a chance to play various mini-game tournaments in environments on the Earth and the moon.
