Every Monday Nintendo releases titles and applications for the Wii and DSi. This week’s WiiWare offerings include Excitebike: World Rally, Frogger Returns, Dragon Master Spell Caster, while the titles released for the Virtual Console include Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap, and Cybernoid.
Excitebike: World Rally is the Nintendo title for one to four players. The game is full of daredevil jumps, whacky obstacles and other racers. Players can choose from multiple camera angles and compete in races in four championship circuits around the world. Players can even use the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to compete against friends. Excitebike: World Rally is available for 1000 Wii Points.
Frogger Returns delivers some of the heart-pounding action from the arcade Frogger, pushing it to a new level. The classic top-down 2D gameplay has undergone revisions and features colourful 3D graphics, new levels, a new perspective, game-changing power-ups and new enemies. The game even features a local multiplayer mode so that you can race a friend. Frogger Returns is from Konami Digital Entertainment for up to two players, and can be purchased for 500 Wii Points.
Dragon Master Spell Caster is the last WiiWare title for the week. The game is from Stickmen Studios and for one to two players. In the game, the Dragon Lords return to the magical world of Nakiha, delivering ultimate power to whoever controls them. Players must choose their champion, and master magic as well as fierce dragon attacks, in order to take down rival Champions and their Dragon Lords. Dragon Master Spell Caster can be downloaded by redeeming 500 Wii Points.
The first of this week’s Virtual Console offerings is the game Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap for one player. A sequel to Wonder Boy in Monster Land, the game starts off in the final lair from the previous game. Players can roam freely, taking up various animal forms. Wonder Boy can buy many different types of weapons, armour, and items to assist in his quest. Wonder Boy III: The Dragon’s Trap is available for 500 Wii Points.
Cybernoid is the shoot ’em up originally for the Commodore 64 system. Players must retrieve cargo stolen by pirates from the Federation storage depots. They’ve also stolen the latest battle weapons and players must hurry as the time counts down, or forfeit one of their Cybernoid ships if they don’t make it in time or don’t retrieve enough cargo. Cybernoid is for one payer and can be purchased by redeeming 500 Wii Points.
