Dead Space Extraction has Gone Gold: EA

Dead Space Extraction is the upcoming prequel to EA’s horrifying 2008 Dead Space, and a while ago EA announced the release dates for the game. Now EA has revealed that Dead Space Extraction for the Wii has gone gold. The game is designed from the ground up just for the Wii home console.

Nintendo of America Vice President of Licensing, Steve Singer commented, “We are excited that Visceral Games is bringing the next installment of the Dead Space franchise to Wii. Dead Space Extraction is shaping up to be an outstanding game and this high-quality, mature title will be a great addition to the Wii line up.”

Those who pre-order the game at participating retailers will receive a special code which can be used to unlock four of the ten unique challenge modes featured in the game. The intense and horrifying levels put the player against the Necromorph horde, either alone or co-operatively with a friend. Those who don’t pre-order the game will have to play each chapter to unlock the challenge modes.

Dead Space Extraction follows space colonists trying to get off the Aegis VII mining colony which has come under a strange infection. It is clear that protecting the game’s female character, Lexine is the only hope of survival.

Dead Space Extraction for the Wii is developed by Visceral Games and is published by Electronic Arts. The game is expected to release to US retailer stores on September 29, 2009, while prices have not been mentioned.
