Wii Fit Plus launch date revealed by Nintendo

It seems like Nintendo is on a roll when it comes to new revelations. The company has set the launch date of the highly-awaited game Wii Fit Plus for October 4, 2009 in North America. Besides this piece of news, Nintendo also announces that the Nintendo DSi handheld console, the Wii Remote, Nunchuk controllers and Wii MotionPlus accessories get new colors. This news was declared by Nintendo of America President & COO Reggie Fils-Aime at the 2009 GameStop Manager Conference.

From September 13 onwards, the portable system can be found in shades of pink and white. These two hues will join the black and blue versions that are already available in stores. The company also reveals a new Black version of the Wii Remote along with a Black Wii MotionPlus accessory and a black version of the Nunchuk controller just in time for the holidays.

“All of these announcements bring more options and more choices to consumers as our industry heads into its busiest time of the year. Each of these products allows consumers to enjoy a more personal gaming experience, no matter how they choose to play,” stated Fils-Aime.

The Wii Fit Plus is the enhanced version of its predecessor and comprises of many new stunning features. These include new exercises, balance games and yoga activities that are fashioned to make workouts fun and not just a mundane activity. A first for the acclaimed title, players can now target specific areas of their body and even fill different intervals of time.

The Wii Fit Plus sports more features than the present Wii Fit and will also come inclusive of the Wii Balance Board accessory. For gamers who already possess the Wii Fit and who just want to add the new options can do so as the latest game disc will also be available as a stand alone offering.

Also soon to be available in markets are the white and pink Nintendo DSi system models. Gamers are offered many more personalization options with the introduction of these two new offerings. All the systems come complete with two cameras and many customization options which allow users to edit and create sound or pictures in new fun ways.

The Wii Remote and Wii MotionPlus now get a brand new look. Both devices will sport a new black look this holiday season. These two aren’t the only two products for the Wii that have undergone a color change. The Black Nunchuk will also soon be available as a standalone purchase.

The Wii Fit Plus along with the Wii Balance Board accessory will cost players 99.99 USD (approx. Rs.4,860). The Wii Fit Plus game disc by itself can be acquired for 19.99 USD (approx. Rs.970). The Nintendo DSi system can be bought for 169.99 USD (approx. Rs.8,277).
