Big League Sports for Nintendo Wii Announced by Activision

Sports titles are turning out a big attraction not only for the gamers but also for the gaming companies. Electronic Arts had announced Celebrity Sports Showdown for the Wii a few months ago. Now we have Activision who has announced that they will be publishing a sports game called as Big League Sports for the Nintendo Wii.

Big League Sports will feature six sports that will have a combined total of twenty-two events. The sports are tennis, basketball, football, soccer, lacrosse as well as hockey. The game has an assortment of modes including single game, marathon and tournament. There is even a character creation feature with many customization options. Gamers will also be able to view their statistics and overall progress.

Dave Oxford from Activision Publishing commented, “Big League Sports evolves the family friendly ‘pick up and play’ sports gaming experience on Wii. Featuring some of the world’s most popular sports in one title, ‘game night’ will take on a whole new tone as up to four players swing, kick, dunk, charge and skate their way to victory.”

Big League Sports will be developed by Koolhaus Games. It has been developed exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. The game is expected to be out later this year in the holiday season. The events in the sports will be making instinctive controls, which mimic real athletic movement, using the Wiimotes.
