Voice Chat for Wii Still Being Considered by Nintendo

Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers have one luxury that the Wii gamers don’t! They are able to speak to their friends via the internet when playing on their consoles. All that could change as Nintendo has stated that the Wii will be able to support online voice chat but they are still considering the options.

Wii Voice Chat

Reggie Fils-Aime, who is the president of Nintendo of America explained, “In terms of online voice chat, as you know, we are constantly making updates and changes available. Certainly our system has the capability for online voice chat; what it comes down to is finalizing the peripheral that would let you to speak during gameplay, and the fact that we make this available on the DS certainly suggests that it is something we value and something that we are constantly looking at, and I would not be surprised to see that capability come on our system.”
