Perrin Kaplan to leave Nintendo

Perrin Kaplan One month ago, it had emerged that Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications George Harrison was leaving the firm. Now Reuters is reporting that U.S. operations VP of Marketing Perrin Kaplan will be leaving the video game giant at the end of 2007.

Perrin Kaplan explained that she wanted to create a transition team soon. She wrote to Reuters, “I finally will be leaving Nintendo at the end of the year. Until then, I am focused on getting a great transition team in place and handling all of my normal responsibilities as well.”

She has been working with Nintendo for the last fifteen years. The speculations about senior executives leaving Nintendo have been coming true as the firm was planning to shift its sales and marketing staff to New York and San Francisco. The Wii has been doing great, but the only thing that remains to be seen is how the departures of George Harrison and Perrin Kaplan will affect the video game giant.
