Resident Evil: Revelations headed to PS3 and Xbox 360?

Is Resident Evil: Revelations, Capcom’s 3DS offering released earlier this year, being readied to be launched on the PS3 and Xbox 360? That’s what the talk is around town, ever since a document by the Korean Ratings Board has surfaced indicating an actual re-release for the much loved title that contained the series-trademark survival horror gameplay.

This listing was spotted by a NeoGAF user raven777, who has also observed that the Korean Ratings Board is notorious for leaking other titles in the past as well. These include The Devil may Cry HD Collection, Dragonball Z Kinect and the console versions of the original Crysis. Logically, this should be an HD remake of the original, complete with Trophies/Achievements and other enhancements. And it is very likely that it will be launched as a downloadable title via PSN and Xbox Live.

It was only last year that we saw Capcom release Resident Evil 4 HD for both the platforms. This re-release of the classic was well-received worldwide, and managed to grab an overall score of 9.5/10 in our review of it. Considering that no new game from the RE franchise has been announced after RE 6, the publisher might be keen on keeping the series in the news with a launch of Resident Evil: Revelations for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

This 3DS game came out in Japan and Europe in January this year, and later made its way to North American and Australian regions in February. It adopts a third-person shooter approach, and lays heavy emphasis on survival horror elements. Exploration and puzzle-solving have also been laid stress on with this game. It has its story set between RE 4 and RE 5, and features prominent characters from the series.

The latest title to have come out under the franchise was RE 6 which grabbed mixed reception from fans and critics alike. Released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in October this year, it is still to make its way to PC. The game kicks in a new story which is told from the perspective of three different protagonists.
