Much to the excitement of fans, Capcom’s latest offering, Resident Evil: Revelations has been outed for the 3DS in North America. The supposed tension building gameplay of this title has been infused into a story which runs gamers through episodes that take place on an abandoned Queen Zenobia cruise ship, snow-covered mountaintops and the floating city of Terragrigia.
Events in this title transpire between the storylines of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. Chief characters from the series, Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, would be seen making their way into this offering. The story picks from when Chris mysteriously disappears, forcing Jill and her new partner, Parker Luciani to embark on a quest to find him. The only clue that they have about his whereabouts is that he was last seen aboard an abandoned cruise ship in the Mediterranean. But to their horror, this vessel is filled with dangerous creatures that emerge from the darkness.
The underwater sequence in the title will mark the first time in the series that such a scenario has been introduced. Also, with all the conspiracies and plot twists, the story is said to unfold in the style of a TV drama. An all new Raid Mode has been revealed by Capcom to be a part of this title. It engages gamers in a variety of time-based objectives that can be played either solo or cooperatively via online or local play. Those who purchase the game can take advantage of the Circle Pad Pro accessory which attaches to the 3DS and is claimed to enhance the overall gameplay experience.
Resident Evil: Revelations is now available for the 3DS in North America at a price of 39.99 USD (approx. Rs. 1,975).
